The Asian Preparedness Partnership (APP) Sub-Grantee Meeting took place on 14 December 2021. It was an opportunity for each of the national partnerships to provide updates about their overall implementation, progress, and challenges of planned interventions. Attendees also presented the activities that they plan to implement in the upcoming year. The meeting witnessed the participation of focal points for the sub-grant management organization from the APP countries and the APP regional secretariat. 

Ms. Shalini Kanwar, Program Lead- Localization, Preparedness for Response and Recovery (PRR) Department of Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC), welcomed everyone to the meeting. She expressed that the session would focus on capturing their experiences while implementing the country projects, sharing their perspectives on the undertaken activities, and their recommendations as the partnerships engage in future activities.

The meeting progressed with presentations by the sub-grantees of the National Preparedness Partnerships. They presented the overall updates of sub-grant implementation, program implementation, and the planned interventions for 2022. They also detailed the achievements and challenges faced when carrying out activities with the consideration of the COVID-19 pandemic. Ms. Kanwar followed these presentations with an overview of some of the key activities and engagements that the APP would carry out in the upcoming year. 

Ms. Nirmala Fernando, Technical Lead, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, PRR of ADPC provided closing remarks. She expressed her gratitude to all the country partners for overcoming the challenges of the pandemic and working collectively to continue strengthening the capacity of local actors.
