Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue (CSSR)

CSSR supports countries in enhancing the disaster resilience of first responders. The course is designed to upskill the first response groups with the skills required to search for, stabilise and extricate victims trapped in collapsed structures. 

Since its inception in 2001, CSSR has been introduced in 8 countries to strengthen their response systems. The focus of this course is to advocate the development of a multi-hazard response system and prepare the rescue teams for the emerging challenges. 

 

Eight instructors teach the course with the help of four assistant instructors through an interactive lecture method which makes the learning:
