Training on Disaster Risk Management

The Nepal Disaster Resilient Network and Kohalpur municipality have partnered up to review the existing simulation disaster risk reduction (DRR) plan. The event will include networking meetings with Lumbini and Karnali provinces. The two-day event will elaborate on the legal and institutional frameworks for disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM) in Nepal, and disaster risk management and its cycles. The objectives of the meeting include:

• mainstreaming DRM in development,
• detailing the availabilities of forecast and impact base forecasting including their application and accessibility,
• introducing disaster assessment tools and practices, and
• developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for anticipatory action and coordination during preparedness and emergency response.
