The Cambodian Humanitarian Forum (CHF) is a group of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Cambodia that are facing funding shortfalls and challenges in disaster risk management (DRM). This is due to a number of reasons that include a lack of budget to implement disaster risk reduction (DRR) and/or emergency response, the limited human resource for the development of qualified proposals, and having limited information and access to sources of funding. CHF members seek to strengthen the fundraising strategy and/or proposal writing for effective DRR resilience and humanitarian response to mitigate these challenges as they play a crucial role in the local humanitarian network. CHF organized a two-day training workshop on fundraising concepts (proposal development) and fundraising strategies with support from the Preparedness Partnership of Cambodia (PPC). The training focuses on fundraising concepts in the DRM aspects, resource/donor mapping, and proposal development. The objectives of the training include:
– strengthening CHF members’ capacity on fundraising concepts for effective disaster risk reduction, preparedness, and response and
– capacitating and improving their knowledge and skill on proposal development and resources/funders mapping in DRM aspects
