Cambodia is regularly exposed to a variety of natural hazards, most commonly floods, drought, and disease outbreaks. The country is considered as one of the top 16 countries listed in the highest risk and ranked in the highest exposure group in the World in the 2020 World Risk Index 1

To address this, National Committee for Disaster Management (NCDM) reactivates a coordination platform that was jointly developed since 2017 aimed to build partnership and coordination with the National Committee for Disaster Management (NCDM), the Humanitarian Response Forum (HRF), Joint Action Group (JAG), and Cambodian Humanitarian Forum (CHF).

The objective of this meeting is to outline the coordination mechanisms envisaged of the Preparedness Partnership of Cambodia (PPC). It is an essential mechanism in ensuring that all partners update on the project’s overall context, main issues and gaps identified, and what other partners are doing to avoid duplication. The objectives of the meeting include:

  • improving information sharing, resources, and knowledge management on disaster management.
  • promoting effective coordination for the implementation of disaster risk reduction (DRR) and Emergency Preparedness and Response (ERP) activities among partners
