Mrs. Uzma Shahid, Director Training, Pakistan Girls Guide Association, is a disaster risk management (DRM) practitioner, a capacity-building expert, and a renowned trainer. She has sound expertise in conceptualizing, planning, and executing developmental, environmental, climate change adaptation, and disaster risk reduction programs. Her professional career spans over more than two decades. She has on credit the conception, designing, planning, execution, management, and supervision of over 30 projects and programs in the diverse fields of disaster risk management, child-centered disaster risk reduction (DRR), child protection, livelihoods, education particularly of girls, and rural and urban development. Mrs. Shahid has developed, coordinated, and contributed to more than 100 knowledge products including research reports, training manuals, information, education, and communication (IEC) materials, and working models/frameworks in these fields. She has designed and delivered hundreds of training on participatory development approaches, child protection, child rights, child-centered disaster risk reduction, livelihoods, cash for work, emergency response, and many more. Mrs. Shahid has remained part of various emergency and disasters response teams at international and national levels.
