Sri Lanka Preparedness Partnership Exposure Visit to Pakistan
The Sri Lanka Preparedness Partnership (SLPP) has worked extensively worked on achieving the above objectives and has been able to create a better platform for public, and private sector institutions and civil society organizations (CSOs). The partnership is engaging in the exposure visit with the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) member in Pakistan. This is part of the need to strengthen the partnership by introducing new and innovative partnership models for better interaction and coordination, enhancing the technical capacity of its member institutions through new knowledge, and developing their motivation and attitudes for better partnership and coordination.
The primary objective of the study tour is to provide SLPP members with an opportunity to gain knowledge and experience on best disaster risk reduction (DRR) practices. The other objectives of the visit include:
- strengthening SLPP’s capacity to be more proactive and contribute to enhancing the partnership in an effective manner,
- increasing the number of SLPP member institutions,
- improving coordination between member institutions to achieve a common goal and plan,
- building the organizational capacity of the Sri Lanka Civil Society Action Network in the context of community resilience so they closely engage with public and private sector institutions, and
- broadening the technical capacity of SLPP member institutions.
