- Strategize the modality of operationalizing the Readiness Fund for Localization.
- Explore ways to consolidate and sustain the National and Regional Partnerships.
The Philippines is honored to host delegates from across Asia for the launch of the highly anticipated APP Phase 3. This significant event marks a new chapter in our journey towards disaster and climate resilience in Asia.
Established in 2017, the APP has been a beacon of multi-stakeholder partnership and collaboration. With founding members from Cambodia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, the APP has received technical and secretariat support from the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) and funding assistance from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) and the USAID-Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (USAID-BHA).
As the APP transitions into Phase 3, we focus on sustaining and strengthening country and regional partnerships. We aim to leverage internal and external support to amplify our unique multi-stakeholder model approach. This phase will also emphasize locally-led actions at sub-national levels, harnessing community engagement to fast-track the localization process. The kick-off meeting in the Philippines will undoubtedly set the stage for this transformative phase.
Join us as we embark on this new phase, fostering stronger regional cooperation under the APP network.
