8th Regional Steering Committee Meeting of the APP hosted by The Philippines

We are pleased to announce the 8^th Regional Steering Committee (RSC) Meeting of the Asian Preparedness Partnership (APP), scheduled at Hilton Manila Hotel, Philippines, on 03 October 2023.

APPRSC members from the governments, local humanitarian networks, and the private sector in Cambodia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, and Sri Lanka; representatives from BMGF; APP Secretariat; and observers from Lao PDR, and other development partners will join the meeting hosted by the Philippines Preparedness Partnership (PhilPrep).

Key Objectives of the 8th APPRSC Meeting

• Reflect on the impacts and lessons learned by the National Preparedness Partnerships and the APP.
• Discuss the modalities of inclusion and transition of countries in the APP network.
• Conclude the current Regional Technical Working Groups (RTWGs) and conceptualize the framework for the new RTWGs for 2023-2025.
• Strengthen regional cooperation under the APP network.

The APP’s commitment to mobilizing local stakeholders has led to National Preparedness Partnerships in each member nation, playing a crucial role in disaster management in the region. This year, PhilPrep co-hosts the 8th meeting with its esteemed member organizations – Office of Civil Defense (OCD), the Center for Disaster Preparedness (CDP), the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF), and the University of the Philippines – Resilience Institute (UPRI).
