The purpose of the National Disaster Response Plan is to enhance the country’s ability to manage disasters using a comprehensive national approach. It outlines the processes and mechanisms to facilitate a coordinated response by the national and/or provincial/local-level departments/agencies. To achieve this, the Plan has been revised since its inception in 2010 to incorporate all disaster management activities as well as consider global trends disaster response alongside Pakistan’s commitments.
