NDR Net Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Orientation Program on “Mainstreaming DRRM and Importance of GESI” in DRRM

NDR Net is a network of local humanitarian organizations. It offers a local level coordination mechanism which has been contributing to DRRM through coordination, awareness and capacity building as well as policy influencing for DRRM advocacy at the province, and local level governments. This mechanism has provided an opportunity to engage, mobilize and work more closely with national, province, and local networks and government to share experiences, good practices, and learning. This network was functional as a loose forum of likeminded LHOs who were organized through APP initiatives started in 2017. The province and national level network were formalized in 2019 and the national level network was formally registered in 2020 with the Government of Nepal as per the prevailing network Registration Act.

As mandated by its By-Laws, this organization also must undergo the reformation of its executive body in a democratic manner within the stipulated time. NDR Net aims to facilitate the practice of good governance, transparency, accountability, in-house reformation process to provide a new and dynamic executive committee amidst the presence of its representatives from participating LHOs/general members from all seven (7) provinces and three ecological zones: mountain, hill and Terai. This NDR Net AGM is designed into two parts, first will be the strengthening and institutionalizing the governance of the network by adopting the democratic practice for reformation of the board of governors / executive committee with prescribed processes; and second part will be followed by an orientation program aimed to capacitate the Network and build the confidence of its member on recent updates on DRRM issues in the country.

Specific objectives include:

• Strengthening good governance and reforming present Ad-hoc committee with an elected or democratically selected body
• Imparting knowledge to its members about DRRM issues to build confidence and capacity
