SLPP Country Consultation Meeting

The SLPP National Consultation Meeting is a significant gathering under the Asian Preparedness Partnership (APP) program. The proposed national-level consultation meeting will facilitate critical discussions among stakeholders including SLPP Co-Chairs, Steering Committee members, government representatives, private sector stakeholders, CSOs, UN Agencies, INGOs, Academic Institutions, and Media representatives. Participants from national and district levels will be invited to participate. Additionally, the APP Secretariat/ADPC representatives will attend the consultative workshop.

Objectives: The primary goal is to craft a robust action plan for the APP Phase 3 program. To achieve this, the specific objectives are:

• Selecting disaster risk reduction initiatives/models for piloting or scaling up in the chosen districts.
• Evaluating and enhancing existing partnership model for greater inclusivity and sustainability.
• Institutionalizing partnerships at both national and sub-national levels.
• Identifying collaborative actions at the national level for Phase 3.
• Determining priority actions for localization.
• Exploring co-financing opportunities and potential collaborations.
• Integrating inclusive approaches and community engagement strategies.
• Establishing effective learning and knowledge-sharing mechanisms.
• Proposing a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation framework.

Methodology: The meeting will begin with an informative session, providing background on the APP/SLPP programs and disaster management framework. Subsequently, interactive sessions will address:

1. Consolidation and Sustainability of SLPP: Reviewing the existing partnership model and drafting Terms of Reference (TORs) for each partner cluster.
2. Collaborative DRR Actions at the National Level: Discussing priority actions and localizing DRR efforts.
3. Local Disaster Risk Management Initiatives at the Subnational Level: Participants will discuss potential DRR initiatives in their respective districts to be implemented under SLPP phase 3.
4. Knowledge Sharing, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Co-Funding: Engaging stakeholders in discussions to shape the strategies.
