SMEs Coordination Meeting on Disaster Preparedness for Response
The rainy season is approaching with consideration to the monsoons. While the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology (MoWRAM) is also issuing the alert weather forecast of much rain to come that can possibly induce flooding in the country. Therefore, the National Committee for Disaster Management (NCDM) has reactivated the preparedness mechanism to prepare for a response along with the flood-prone areas, especially those in the Mekong River. NCDM is also in the process of updating the national contingency plan. In order to align this preparation with NCDM for the private sectors, FASMEC with the fund support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under Preparedness Partnership of Cambodia (PPC) Phase 2 will conduct a meeting to discuss with private sectors, government, and Cambodia Humanitarian Forum (CHF) on the preparation for flood risk reduction, as well to discuss on the next plan of ongoing activities under the current PPC project.
The objectives of the meeting include:
- To discuss the integration of FASMEC contingency planning with the NCDM contingency plan update process
- To update the SME champions selection process
- To discuss and update the implementation plan for business continuity planning of SMEs (e-learning and rollout plan)
