Effective disaster management requires collective action. In this issue of the BPP Bimonthly Newsletter, we spotlight how the Bangladesh Preparedness Partnership (BPP) continues to advance the Whole-of-Society approach—bringing together government, the private sector, academia, NGOs, civil society, and communities in coordinated preparedness efforts.
Launched in 2018 under the leadership of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief (MoDMR), with technical support from the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) and financial backing from the Gates Foundation, BPP is firmly rooted in national and global frameworks—including the Standing Orders on Disaster (2019), the National Plan for Disaster Management (2021–2025), and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—and is guided by the Whole-of-Society approach to disaster preparedness and resilience.
This issue highlights how this approach has been reflected in BPP’s recent activities
