The rainy season in Cambodia is approaching with the predicted monsoons. The Ministry of Water Resouce and Metereology (MoWRAM) issues the alert weather forecast of rain levels that may possibly induce flooding. In response to potential future disaster events, the National Committee for Disaster Management (NCDM) has reactivated the preparedness mechanism to prepare for a response along with the flood-prone areas, especially those in the Mekong River. The committee is also in the process of maintaining alertness of flood preparation during the monsoon season. In order to align local non-governmental organizations (LNGOs) with the NCDM, CHF with the fund support from the United States Agency for International Development Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance (USAID BHA) under Preparedness Partnership of Cambodia (PPC) will conduct a meeting to discuss with the CHF’s zone team, government, and Federation of Associations for SMEs of Cambodia (FASMEC) on the preparation for any disaster risk reduction, as well to discuss on the next plan of ongoing activities under the current PPC project.

The objectives of the meeting include:

  • To update the situation of CHF/APP for the zone members to be aware of for collaboration
  • To share and learn from CHF/APP members on the challenges, solutions, and needs
  • Discuss the joint action plan for next quarter
